The King Of Dreams
Photo-Paint, ZBrush
July 2005

This image was done from a quick idea about the classical sandman. The idealized version, that we often see in children's books - the guy with the blue hat and pouch full of sand - is really too scary for me so I decided to go with my own idea of that nightly figure. Here is a typical day at work or a night in work, where we see the man himself trying to decide which one of the two nightmares he's holding would be less scary for me.
Ultimately, he will probably go with the more scarier one. Story of my life.

The figure is "molded" in ZBrush and rendered in trueSpace. The globs and the curtain are modelled inside tS. Then a heavy post with Corel Photo-Paint and Paint Shop Pro (Hey, I love classic programs). Hope you like this one!
